Our staff will be ready to welcome you at the departure point, farewell your families and friends and start the adventure. We will have a chance to meet and greet each other on the beautiful and world renowned Grand Pacific Drive which includes the Sea Cliff Bridge. This iconic bridge takes in the wonderful coastal views and you might even get glimpse of migrating whales. We will head up to Bald Hill, the viewing platform that overlooks the whole of Wollongong. A wonderful place to have some lunch.
After lunch we will visit Symbio Zoo, home to all the Australian animal favourites as well a large range of exotic animals. We can get a selfie with their famous mob of kangaroos that roam free throughout the zoo, as well as many other opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals.
After a great first day together, we will check in to the Novotel on Wollongong’s iconic north beach. Our first dinner together will be a wonderful way to spend the evening, finished off with a stroll along the “Blue Mile” at sunset.
Today we will have breakfast together and jump on our bus and head to Robertson, a quaint town in the highlands behind Wollongong. They have the best pie shop around and we will be trying one of those!! On the way we will stop in at the Illawarra Fly Tree Top walk. This is a purpose-built steel walkway through the canopy of the rainforest. It is a new and exciting way to experience the Royal National Park and take in the views out to sea.
We will grab supplies in town and drive to Carrington Falls for lunch. This is a picturesque part of the rainforest and a beautiful waterfall to find at the end of an easy trail through the bushland.
After a fun day out, we will head back to the Gong for dinner together.
After a hearty breakfast we will take a coastal drive south, taking in the glorious beaches and escarpment views that are so typical of Wollongong. We are heading to Kiama, a bustling coastal town full of history. We will discover the famous Blowhole on the headland next to the lighthouse, watch as the ocean pushes the water into the rocks to make the water splash into the air!!!
We will also go and find the little blowhole, equally as fun and with fantastic views of the glorious ocean.
For lunch we will be heading a bit further south. Gerroa is at the start of the Seven-mile beach and we have a great lunch spot to sit and take it all in. We can splash our feet in the ocean after lunch and take some time to laze around enjoying the beach in Gerroa.
Today we will have our last breakfast in the beautiful Gong and then jump on the bus to the Nan Tien Temple. This is an interesting place to experience the architecture and wonder of the beautiful gardens built in the heart of Wollongong. This Buddhist temple has become a feature of the Wollongong skyline and a popular place to visit.
We will be heading to Trusted Travel Headquarters for lunch. Kelly and Jenni will meet up with you and have a catch-up over some great food! We can’t wait to have some laughs with you!
After lunch you will make your way home to your family and friends with some great memories.
