Yuin People of the Yuin Nation

The South Coast of NSW has so many things to see and do! We will be visiting Tilba Tilba, the whole village is part of the National Trust as it has so many original houses built in the 1890s in the midst of a gold rush in the area. We will be spending the day in this historic town taking in the history of the area. We will also take the time to visit the Bodalla Cheese Factory – the Eurobodalla region we are visiting is famous for its dairy cows and the Bodalla Factory has been making cheese form the local dairy cows for over 150 years.

We will be taking a cruise around Montague Island, spotting the local seal colony and hopefully getting a glimpse of the penguins who live on the island.

This part of the South Coast has so many historic treasures, great places to eat from the local produce of the area and fun things to do. Book your seat now for a fun, informative foodie week away!

Day 1

Our staff will be ready to welcome you at the departure point, farewell your families and friends and start the adventure. We will jump in our Trusty wheels and head south along one of the world's best coastal drives towards the Sapphire Coast. We will pump the tunes as we enjoy being on the road again!

We will stop and stretch our legs and grab a bite to eat along the way – there are plenty of choices!! Milton is a great little village with lots of great places to eat and maybe a chance to pick up supplies for a BBQ dinner when we arrive at our accommodation.

Once we have arrived, we can unpack and settle into our rooms and enjoy the sunset over the water, ready for a great week ahead.

Day 2

This morning we will cook up breakfast together while enjoying the views of the bush and the water. Today we will be heading off to Narooma to enjoy a lovely day by the seaside. Narooma is a bustling town that has grown from a simple fishing village into the town we see today. As it sits on a major inlet into the sea there are many great seafood places and we can try some oysters straight from the ocean – delicious!

We will be taking a cruise on the local waters today. Montague Island Nature Reserve and surrounding sea waters offer the chance to experience a spectacular wildlife wonderland, it is home to hundreds of seals and more than 90 bird species. We will be cruising out to the island with an opportunity to get off the boat and tour Montague Island during the day.

We will be walking the Mitchell Mill boardwalk, a purpose-built boardwalk to commemorate the history of the mill, it leads to where Mitchell's Mill once stood in the cove and was constructed by the timber bridge crew of the local Council. We will hopefully meet the local seals who hang out near the pier as we enjoy the views.

We will also have some photo ops with Australia Rock – this is naturally forming rock that happens to be in the shape of Australia. We can spend the afternoon with our feet in the water and fish and chips for dinner on the beach!

Day 3

This morning we will have breakfast together and then head out to Tilba Tilba. This enchanting little village sits in the hinterland overlooking Mystery Bay and the whole village is part of the National Trust. Most of the houses in the village were built in the 1890s amidst a goldrush in the area. Since then, the town has developed into a lovely place to step back in time and enjoy wandering around the old buildings all turned into shops to taste and see the products of the region. We will stop in at the ABC Cheese factory which has been operating since the 1890s and creates cheese and assorted dairy products all from the jersey cows in the local area.

We will take a walk – or drive – up to the top of Mt. Dromedary which overlooks Tilba TIlba and has great views over the ocean and the inland towards the west.

We will head home with lots of options for dinner from the shopping done in town today. Tonight, we have “games night” – get ready to compete with some of your favourite games. There will be a prize for the winning team!

Day 4

This morning we will have a leisurely breakfast and a walk around the area to take in the ocean before we jump in the bus for our next adventure.

Today we will be taking a drive north to Bodalla and visit the cheese factory which makes world renowned cheese, ice cream and fresh milk – straight from the cows in the paddock out the windows!!

We will also take a drive to visit Horse Island and Tuross Heads, this is a lovely spot on the coast where the lakes meet the sea, the water is crystal clear and the tides are lovely to watch ebb and flow as we take a walk along the track through the village to the sea.

We will have some down time and some games on the beach to enjoy our last afternoon together.

Dinner tonight will be a BBQ cook up together.

Day 5

We will be up early and packing up our belongings and checking out for the drive home. With new friends made and lots of good food and adventures, the drive home will fly by and before you know it we will have to say goodbye – until next time!
