When your parents told you not to play with fire, what they actually meant was… let someone else do it for you! August sees Orange and Millthorpe host the annual Orange Winter Fire Festival, and a whole swag of events highlighting why these towns have established themselves firmly as official regional foodie destinations.

There is something for everyone, with everything from night markets to poetry sessions, fire breathers, fire twirlers and astronomy classes. Now that’s literally lit!

The festival kicks off on the Friday night with the Millthorpe Night Markets. Live music, market stalls, ice skating, food vendors, entertainment and a fireworks show!

Over the past decade or so, Orange has become recognised as one of Australia's finest culinary regions. Enjoy char grilled feasts and camp fire cook outs under the country region’s expansive starry night skies or huddle up next to a fireplace. With wine tasting sessions and sing-alongs, plus so much more taking place over the festival, a road trip to the Orange Winter Fire Festival would make for a pretty perfect winter weekend.

Our staff will be ready to welcome you at the departure point, farewell your families and friends and start the road trip adventure. Get to know your fellow travellers on the journey to country life in Orange. On arrival we will check into our accommodation, rug up with our winter woollies and head out to the first part of the festival, the Millthorpe Night Markets.

Day 2

After a delicious breakfast and a relaxed morning, we will grab our winter woollies and head off for a fun day out in Orange. The region comes alive for the festival with so much to see and do. All of the local establishments show off their wares, food and specialties. After a fun day out, check out the country sunset from the lookout before snuggling in by the fireplace with a warm winter meal for dinner.

Day 3

Today we will visit some of the local wineries. Orange is famous for its trendy vineyards and they are all keen to show it all off for the weekend long festival. With live music entertainment from solo artists and bands, dancing is welcomed! Have a wine tasting or tuck into a tasty cheese platter. After some chill time in the afternoon, we will head back to the festival to be wow’d by the fire breathers and twirlers while you enjoy a country cooked camp feast by the bonfire!

Day 4

After a perfect weekend with friends by the fire, under the country sky, today it’s time to farewell the Orange region. We will enjoy our last breakfast together before we hit the road and make our way back to our family and friends.
