Continuing Custodians of the Land:

Arrernte People of the Mparntwe Nation

From a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains. Join our group of travelers as we embark on a journey to the red center of Australia, Alice Springs! From the rusty coloured rocks, to the mixed yellow sands, the vibrancy of the outback will leave you in awe, inspired and connected to country and the amazing history of this land we call home.

Alice Springs is one of the most interesting and isolated towns in the whole of Australia. Get a taste of local life with a visit to the Alice Springs Desert Park, here you will meet some of the interesting local wildlife such as emus and dingoes! Take the opportunity to listen to one of the local elders as they show items from the past and tell yarns from the dreamtime. We will also pop back for a visit to the desert park at night! Here we will join a guided tour by spotlight of a special area of the park where endangered native animals such as Bilbies, Bandicoots & Echidnas are kept safe from predators. People rarely get to see most of these animals. They are very shy!

During your stay, you will quickly be made aware of the sheer scale and barren natural beauty of the region as we join a guided tour into the West Macdonnell Ranges. Known locally as the West Macs, these starkly beautiful mountains rise from the desert floor like red giants. Venture into canyons, scale through gorges, dip your toes in oasis-like waterholes and learn the history and traditions of the Arrernte people. This day tour will surely be one of the highlights of your outback adventure.

The outback is the perfect setting for some incredible sunsets! We’ll be sure to make our way atop the famous ANZAC Hill to feast our eyes on these wondrous displays. On another evening of your stay in Alice Springs, we will meet up with the crew from Pyndan Camels for a sunset camel ride through the desert! Make friends with your gentle camel as the sun sets against the MacDonnell Ranges, a signature Red Centre experience.

Not many people make it to the famed red-centre. Even fewer do it with the fun and flair of Trusted Travel. Come along with us and experience this incredible part of our sunburnt country.
