This month, Trusted Travel and our excited travellers escaped the winter blues and went for an adventure to the warm, coastal town of Byron Bay. Located on Australia’s most eastern point, our beachfront accommodation set the scene for a relaxing weeklong vacation, being only just steps away from Byron’s Main beach and a small stroll to the local CBD.
Our first day consisted of sightseeing, which included a whale watching activity from Ballina. It was here where we got to see the largest species on Earth – the humpback whale, venturing out to the protected waters of Cape Byron Marine Park to see these majestic, curious creatures in their native habitat.
On our third day, we visited Cape Byron lighthouse and checked in at the Maritime Museum, also known as the former Lighthouse Keeper’s Office. The views from the top were stunning and we were even fortunate to spot some more whale breaching activity close by.
In the afternoon, we made our way to the peaceful grounds of Zephyr Horses where we went for a ride through the beautiful sub-tropical Byron woodlands, sharing many laughs and smiles together as a group. We then spent the evening on the beach, dancing, playing ball and splitting a BBQ with some of the nearby locals.
We began our fourth day at Broken Head Nature Reserve and did the scenic Three Sisters walking track through the rainforest, which lead us to the most beautiful view of the amazing coastline. We stopped at the Summerland House Farm and checked out the working avocado and macadamia groves from the comfort our tractor tour. After, we were able to sampled some of the local produce and reminisce about our time spent in Byron Bay and Trusted Travel.
