Vivid is the largest festival of lights and ideas in the Southern Hemisphere and Trusted Travel want to give you the opportunity to experience this amazing event.
Staying on the water’s edge of the beautiful Darling Harbour, we will be right amongst the colour!
We will escape the crowds one night and enjoy the views of the lit up city sights from the water on a dinner cruise. Cruising aboard Vivid Sydney vessel MV Sydney 2000, including contemporary Australian dining with a choice of mains and desserts. This 1½ hour cruise is a popular with those eager to see the lights of Vivid Sydney turn on in the evening at 6.00pm. After dinner we can set off and explore the interactive displays.
On our second evening of the light festival we’ll jump on the ferry over to the zoo. “Lights of the Wild” held at the zoo as part of the festival is something not to be missed! The journey begins at Taronga’s heritage-listed main entrance—brought to life with our dazzling and moving animal projection show. Walk through the gates and explore the illuminated trail that winds through the stunning grounds of Taronga Zoo Sydney, showcasing awe-inspiring giant multimedia light sculptures: meet the magnificent Sumatran Tiger and her new gorgeous tiger cubs, the vividly coloured Marine Turtle, a swarm of tiny buzzing bees and our larger-than-life gorilla family – plus a whole cast of other captivating creatures that will sparkle in the night.
With so many accessible features Vivid can be enjoyed by everyone! While the lights are out during the day we will enjoy the activities on offer in the harbour including the famous Madame Tussauds, Sydney Aquarium & Sydney Eye tower.
Our holiday package includes 2 nights twin share accommodation, return transport from Wollongong (if required), all main meals, all activities as per itinerary, staffing support and expenses (at required level).

Meeting at our Wollongong location, we will introduce everyone to the group, pack up our bus and hit the road. We’ll stop on the way for lunch, some leg stretches and sight-seeing. On arrival in darling Harbour, we will check into our accommodation and settle into our rooms. Later we will get ready for our Vivid dinner cruise and night in the city. After dinner and enjoying the festival, we will make our way back to our accommodation for free time before bed.
After enjoying a buffet breakfast at our accommodation, we will then get ready for our day out. We’ll explore the harbour and visit the well-known attractions there. Today we will enjoy the aquarium in the morning, after lunch we will check out the stars and have photo sessions with the famous celebrities at Madame Tussauds wax museum. Later we will make our way back to our accommodation to rest our feet and have some down time. In the evening we will have an early dinner at the harbour before umping on the ferry to the zoo for “Lights of the Wild”! Afterwards, we will jump back on the ferry to our accommodation for free time before bed.
After filling our tummies at our final buffet breakfast at our accommodation, we will pack up our things and check out of our hotel. Before leaving the city, we’ll scale the heights (using the lift!) of the Sydney Eye Tower. After enjoying the birds eye views, we’ll make our way back to Wollongong. We’ll stop on the way for lunch, some leg stretches and sight-seeing.
