We will explore the Waikato river, cruising through the heartland of New Zealand, passing by the waterfall in the Narrows, impressive estates and native bushland while enjoying a BBQ lunch. Take one of the gondola cabins to the top of Mt Ngongotaha and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Rotorua, the city and steaming geothermal landscapes.
Ruakuri Cave is an experience that must be seen to be believed. See glow worms up close in this magical place and marvel at the limestone formations and crystal structures. Prepare to be humbled by the sheer majesty of nature.
Experience the warmth and richness of Māori culture at Whakarewarewa – The Living Māori Village. Here we will explore an authentic living Māori village where people live on a daily basis, using natural geothermal resources to cook, bathe and heat their homes as they have for centuries. View the geothermal wonders of Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley up close, including the world-famous Pōhutu geyser, boiling mud-pools, steam vents and bubbling pools. Enjoy a traditional cooking demonstration – watch our residents prepare Hāngi meals in our in-ground steam boxes, and cook corn in the bubbling water of our geothermal hot pools – as they have for generations.
One of the highlights of this holiday package is the Hobbiton movie set tour! Step into the enchanting village of Hobbiton as featured in The Lords of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. Experience the real Middle-earth on this guided tour where you will be escorted around the set, shown the intricate details and learn how the movie magic was made.

Meeting at the international terminal, we will welcome everyone to the group, farewell our family and friends and check into our flight to New Zealand. On arrival we will collect our hire vehicle and proceed to our accommodation in Hamilton.
Today we will enjoy a BBQ lunch aboard the Waikato River Explorer while taking in the spectacular scenery along the way. Later in the day we will stop into the Waikato museum, check out the exhibitions on display and engage in the interactive activities they have on offer.
On this day we will be visiting the living Māori Village – Whakarewarewa. A wonderland of Māori Culture, geothermal activity and traditions. We join a guided tour to discover the wonders of mother nature and learn how the people have come to live in harmony with this unique environment.
Rest day. This day will be for recharging our batteries after a busy few days. We will enjoy lunch overlooking Turtle Lake at the Hamilton gardens Café then stroll through the picturesque, fantasy filled themed gardens.
Hobbiton day! Today we embark on our journey to the real Middle-earth. This tour will guide us around the 12 acre movie set featuring sets such as hobbit holes and the green dragon inn.
On this day we will jump on the Rotorua Skyline gondola and travel up to the top of Mt Ngongotaha to take in the views of Lake Rotorua, the city and steaming geothermal landscapes. Set amongst the clouds atop Mount Ngongotaha is Skyline Rotorua’s Stratosfare Restaurant where we will enjoy lunch and watch the zip liners sail by.
In the morning we will take time out for a bit of souvenir shopping, then after lunch we will make our way to Ruakuri Cave for our unique cave tour.
After an early breakfast we will check out of our accommodation, head back to the airport, return our hire car and check into our flight home. On arrival home we will meet up with our family and friends and say goodbye to the new friends we have made along the way.

It was a beautiful day to sail away on our adventure on the sea! We met at the cruise terminal, checked our bags in, said good-bye to our family and friends and embarked upon our journey.
