Are you mad about football? Join us for an exciting weekend in the sporting mecca of Melbourne.
AFL, NRL, behind the scenes stadium tours and much more, our Melbourne Football Mania holiday package has it all!
We will be staying in the heart of Melbourne close to all the city sights, shops, cafes, restaurants and transport. And of course, a hop, skip, roll or walk to the stadium. We will be attending the AFL match between Essendon & Hawthorn Hawks at Marvel Stadium. Before the game we will be shown around the stadium on a behind the scenes tour! Next up will be the NRL match between Melbourne Storm & Newcastle Knights, this game is sure to be a cracker with the local fans too! The atmosphere is going to be electric at AAMI!
Being such a beautiful city we want to see some sights! So we will enjoy a Yarra River cruise which will take us from the CBD past the ports to Docklands where we will see one the busiest trading ports in the Southern Hemisphere!
Sticking the with sporting theme, we will also visit the National Sports Museum at the MCG and explore the inner sanctum of the MCG, walk on the hallowed arena and experience where legends play by taking a guided MCG tour!
Sporting fans are sure to get a kick out of this action packed holiday!
This holiday package includes return flights to Melbourne from Sydney, 4 night twin share accommodation, return airport transfers from Wollongong (we can assist with travel for participants out of this area), all main meals, all activities as per itinerary, 1:4 staffing support and all staffing expenses. Each participant will also receive the option for a hard cover photo book, full of their fun holiday memories.

Meeting at our Wollongong location, we will introduce and welcome participants to our group then pack up the bus, farewell our family and friends and set off to the airport. Melbourne, here we come!
On arrival in Melbourne, we will collect our luggage and make our way to the Skybus which will take us into the city to our accommodation. Once we have checked in and settled into our rooms, we’ll check out the hotel facilities and enjoy some free time. In the evening we’ll head out for some dinner. Melbourne is well known for its award winning hospitality so we’re sure to be in for a delicious treat!
After enjoying a scrumptious breakfast at our hotel, we will then get ready for our first day of sporting fun! Today we will take a “Behind the Scenes” tour of Marvel Stadium. Visit the AFL players’ change rooms, the players/coaches’ briefing room, the coaches’ box, experience the feel of walking up the AFL umpires’ tunnel and much more. Visit the Media Centre where the coaches go ‘head-to-head’ at the conclusion of an AFL match with the media. At the same time inspect the room, which also doubles as the AFL Tribunal. After our tour we will enjoy some lunch in the city, then head to Spencer Street outlet mall for a bit of bargain hunting. Afterwards we will go back to our accommodation for some free time to relax before dinner and the big match between Essendon & the Hawks!
Once again we will be spoilt for choice at breakfast before getting ready for another busy day. Today we will be cruising the Yarra River. We will meander past Melbourne CBD and discover one of the busiest trading ports in the Southern hemisphere. Victoria Docks will give you a snapshot of our the maritime heritage of the area. After our cruise we’ll enjoy lunch along the Southbank Promenade then head over the Princes Bridge to check out what’s happening at Federation Square and have a photo or two at the iconic Flinders Street Train Station. Afterwards we will go back to our accommodation for some free time to relax before dinner and the NRL match between Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights!
After breakfast we will get ready for the day and head to the tram station. It wouldn’t be a trip to Melbourne without a tram ride! We will catch the tram to the MCG. Here will visit the National Sports Museum. The Museum boats interactive zones, 3D holograms, displays and memorabilia from some of our country’s greatest sports heroes. For lunch we will go to the Paddock Café at the MCG. Presented in a bright and comfortable space, the café offers wonderful views over the iconic MCG turf. Paddock Cafe is a celebration of the lighter side and history of the MCG. After lunch it will be time for our guided tour. We will gain an insight into Melbourne's sporting culture while exploring one of the world's most iconic stadiums, as we hear from the proud MCC volunteers and go behind the scenes. After our busy day we will go back to our accommodation for some free time to relax. In the evening we will head out for our final dinner together as a group. After dinner we’ll get organised for our departure in the morning.
All good things must come to an end. After we enjoy our last delicious buffet breakfast we will check out of our accommodation and make our way back to Melbourne airport on the Skybus. Soon after we have done our bag drop and checked into our flight we will be jetting back to Sydney. On arrival in Sydney we’ll collect our luggage and hop onto our awaiting airport transfer. We will then drive back to our Wollongong location to meet up with our family and friends.
