Alice Springs, Uluru & Outback Adventure

30 July - 05 August 2019

From seemingly endless red desert to cooling pools, towering rock formations to night skies that burst with stars, there’s a whole new world awaiting you in the Australian Outback.

On our supported group holiday to the red centre, we will be staying at the MacDonnell Ranges Holiday Park with many activities and pools to enjoy. MacDonnell Ranges Park is a short drive to Alice Springs city centre. Come with us and discover all that this spectacular, historically significant, cultural wonderland has to offer. Be prepared to be mind blown with the amazing sights you will visit. We will even be getting up close to some endangered animal by spotlight on the Alice Springs Nocturnal Tour.

Be immersed in the rich history and the traditional stories of Uluru on our day tour from Alice Springs. Any Territorian will tell you, it's the stories behind Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Watarrka that really bring these sites to life. Set your eyes on the enormous sandstone natural wonder. Uluru is 348 meters high and 10 kilometres in circumference! It’s concealing caves, cascades and rock art are definitely a sight to behold. The Olgas and Walpa Gorge are also on the to-do list.

Uluru at sunset is truly magnificent. As our day comes to an end, we will watch the sunset from the lookout and then enjoy a traditional Australian BBQ dinner.

We will be visiting many of the must see areas of the West MacDonnell Ranges, including Ellery Creek Big Hole, this is the biggest waterhole in Central Australia! For those keen to have a dip there are plenty of safe, stunning swimming spots along the way. Orimiston Gorge is known for some spectacular scenery of soaring cliffs, incredible rock formations, giant red rivers gums and a colony of adorable black footed rock wallabies.

Discover Aboriginal tradition, Dreamtime stories, art and culture during your journey to this fascinating part of our beautiful country. Learn to play a didgeridoo, throw a spear or a boomerang and get a real feel for Aboriginal culture and music at the Aboriginal Australia Culture Centre. We will also learn about the Caterpillar dreaming creation story at Emily Gap where we will visit several sacred sites and some very impressive rock art.

From sharing a laugh with larrikin locals, immersing in history to stunning sights, there are countless unique experiences to be had on our outback adventure!
